Originally formed in 1919, the club started life as the Ministry of Pensions CC in London. As the name implies, the club’s players were primarily drawn from that organisation. When part of the Ministry was relocated to Blackpool in the late 1930s, the club also transferred and was accepted into membership of the Palace Shield competition in 1947.
In 1955, the club obtained a ground of their own within the government complex at Norcross. After losing the ground due to building work, the club relocated to the HASSRA Sports Ground (Norcy Park) in 1994.
Whilst Norcross is still affiliated to the Civil Service, a relaxation in the rules governing membership means that everyone is welcome to play and a junior section serves the needs of the children of civil servants as well as pupils from the local community. We have 2 Saturday, open-age teams, a Sunday Tigers XI, T20, Last Man Stands and junior teams at U10s and U13s. We have been ECB Clubmark accredited since 2015 with fully qualified and DBS vetted coaches.
We also host:
All Stars Cricket for 5-8 year olds - a fantastic and fun introduction to cricket using a soft ball. The basic skills of cricket are taught here.
Dynamos Cricket for 8-11 year olds - great for children new to cricket but also for All Stars graduates. They get to learn how to play the game more competitively.
HASSRA Fylde Club of the Year 2017, 2018 and 2019
The Cricketer Magazine Amateur Club of the Year 2017
