Good morning all. Hope you are all keeping safe and well.

On the eve of what would have been the first senior game of the season, we thought we would update you on what we know about the season so far.

Firstly, thanks to Iain, who has hosted the Norcross quiz on Zoom this week and will continue to do so to keep every connected. Watch out for the what’s app groups/facebook for times, dates and access codes.

Thanks to our members (who have been following social distancing) that have been prepping the ground for this year. It is looking great and the lovely weather has helped too!

COVID-19 and Playing Cricket
As far as playing cricket, this is still some way off. As you may have heard yesterday, the government extended its lockdown for another 3 weeks, which takes us to around 11th May.

The ECB had previously stated that no recreational cricket would occur until the end of May. We think this will still be the case – both practise and playing games.

All Stars Cricket and Dynamos Cricket are temporarily suspended until more info is known.

No decision has been made about the junior or senior league format this year. We can’t see a decision being made until mid-late May. We would hope that the majority of games for the season can be played but that decision will be out of our hands. All the sport governing bodies and leagues must go on the advice of the government.

The committee will be meeting – virtually – next week to see where we are at in other areas of the club too.

Wyre Lottery – Support Us
The Wyre Community Lottery is now up and running, last week 2 winners from Norcross were drawn out! For your £1 per week, 50p comes back to the club to help us purchase new equipment for our members. Draws take place every Saturday at 8pm.
